NanoVation™ Co-Founder Dr. Pieter Cullis and his colleagues Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman were awarded the Gairdner International Award “for their pioneering work developing nucleoside-modified mRNA and lipid nanoparticle (LNP) drug delivery: the foundational technologies for the highly effective COVID-19 mRNA vaccines.”

This comes just a few months after the same pioneering trio were awarded the 2021 Prince Mahidol Award. Dr. Cullis was also named an Officer of the Order of Canada earlier this year.
