Bio
I have over 20 years of experience in developing broad and defendable patent portfolios for biotechnology companies. Prior to joining NanoVation, I developed and managed a patent portfolio of over 200 patents and applications for a 300-employee biotechnology company based in Ottawa, Ontario. I also spent 6 years working in private practice, including as a partner in the intellectual property department of Ottawa’s largest full-service law firm. In 2015 I completed an LL.M in Intellectual Property Law at Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, Ontario. Currently, I teach an advanced patent drafting course administered by the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and I have lectured on intellectual property law at the University of Ottawa. I am registered to practice before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
